Objectives

It is clear that the inability to protect cultural assets is a very old problem. We should protect the cultural heritage handed down the next generations from past generations for the benefit of all of us. In the globalization process we are in, this heritage is a very important element that helps us remember our cultural diversity and enhances the respect and dialogue between different cultures. Due to the decrease in this importance recently, we wanted to realize the importance of cultural heritage in terms of tangible cultural heritage and transfer it to young people and raise awareness in them. The main goal of our project was to increase the awareness of young people about the protection of tangible cultural heritage by learning through practice. In this direction, we have determined 4 sub-targets; 1-To provide information to young people about what tangible cultural heritage is and what it includes. 2-To inform young people about the meaning, function and importance of tangible cultural heritage and to increase their awareness of why this heritage should be protected. 3- To increase the knowledge of young people about how to protect the tangible cultural heritage 4-To provide information about the participation of young people in the protection of their tangible cultural heritage and to encourage their participation in the conservation processes. Our reason for carrying out the project was born out of breaking the anti-conservation traditions and raising generations that respect the documents of their own past and believe in the need to preserve them. Considering the rules and priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme, we aimed to include young people with fewer opportunities in our project, to provide opportunities for learning mobility of young people and youth leaders, and to increase the skills and competencies of young people at the point of protection of cultural heritage. We wanted our project to encourage the sense of responsibility and active citizenship of the participants, to encourage the participation of the disabled individuals in social life, and thus to put social inclusion at the forefront. With these aspects of our project, we wanted the Erasmus+ Program to contribute to its specific goals in the field of youth.
