Objectives

Many of today's food production systems jeopardize future food production capacity. According to FAO, it is estimated that the world population will reach 9.1 billion in 2050 (34% more than today's population). To produce more food with less land, water and energy, that is, to feed this population, food production will need to be increased by 70%. In order to protect the rapidly increasing population and nature in the world, it is necessary to ensure the sustainability of food. A more efficient and sustainable food system; -More technical information on the environmental impacts of food production - Promote sustainable food production - Promote sustainable food consumption -Improve food policy consistency -We can achieve by reducing food waste and losses (http://ec.europa.eu/environment/eussd/food.htm). It is estimated that up to 2 billion tons of all food produced in the world is wasted. Based on all these needs; We realized our project, which has the main objectives of recognizing sustainable food systems by young people, ensuring that they take an active role in these systems, choosing products that do not harm the nature while consuming, and raising awareness about waste reduction. A productive project was carried out with 43 young people from 5 different institutions for 8 days through team work, sustainable food, production and consumption workshops, good practice visits, E+ information session and cultural events. Our project contributed to the EU's Sustainable Development Goals, the need for sustainable food systems, the common agricultural policy, and the E+ goals of inclusion of young people in rural development, and Turkey's 11th Five-Year Development Plan.
