We live in paradoxical times. Even though there is an increasing awareness on fracturing topics, like gender issues and LGBTI topics, at the same time some rights are stepping back in several parts of Europe and there is a greater hostility within society itself, often due to the growth of right-extremists and nationalisms. Therefore, while there are many rights acquired recently, many others appear to be threatened. And as gender equality or inclusion movements are born, many others proliferate, threatening this equity of rights. Beyond that, there is still a lot misinformation in western society about this topic. There are still many doubts about what is feminism and other similar concepts, about the difference between equality and equity, among others. The youth exchange “ABC to Gender Equity” wanted to answer these questions and to promoted certain values, such as equality, democracy and human rights. Democracy is not as acquired as it seems and it is our responsibility as civil society – specially the younger generations – to ensure that is maintained. With this in consideration, the main objectives of the project were: > Promote gender equality, LGBTI and equality issues, inclusion and solidarity > Promote human rights > Promote democracy, EU values and EU itself > Guarantee active participation > Understand the functioning of the democratic institutions > Promote the multicultural dialogue > Acquire personal and professional competences > Develop critic sense and supported opinion > Fight fake news and other post-true concepts > Fight hate and discrimination > Promote Erasmus+ program > Create 3 viral campaigns dedicated to gender and LGBT issues
