In our vision of what a brighter and better Europe should look like we must include an aspiration towards increasing equality of opportunity among our youth, who are the ones who hold the future in their hands. Unfortunately, for some youth, there are obstacles that are more profound than for others, leading to an imbalance in equality and, thus, in the ability to pursue opportunities that can lead to better health, better employment and better lives. Young people coming from deprived urban areas face many obstacles: social exclusion, poverty, unemployment, etc. They need constructive solutions to overcome these obstacles. Solutions that will give them the competences, skills and confidence to achieve a better life for themselves and for their communities. This mobility project, an international youth exchange, will be spearheaded by young people with support and mentoring by our partner organisations. The emphasis will be bringing together youth, including those from deprived urban areas, and equipping them with the skills and competences they need in order to improve their employability, enhance their entrepreneurial mindsets, increase capacities for innovative thinking, build a sense of belonging to their communities and increase their ability to work towards an effective solution in addressing the problems that affect youth by practicing innovative thinking. The project objectives are to: - foster innovative thinking and develop entrepreneurial mindsets to address day-to-day challenges - encourage young people living in deprived urban areas to develop their skills and competences for lifelong learning - equip the youth from deprived urban areas with the skills to access and evaluate information in a scientific and competent way - acquire skills in communication and constructive dialogue with stakeholders, key players in the labour market, their peers, their communities - learn how to recognise and apply Youthpass competencies in the daily life - practice volunteerism as a way to enhance innovative thinking and employability skills, improving the local community at the same time - empower young people to be able to take control of a project, develop innovative ideas and design their own community projects - inspire young participants to find and use resources for further self-development, quality learning and quality employment - acquaint youth with the Erasmus+ programme and the benefits related to connecting Erasmus+ and the EU
