The project “Lead the Way” is a training course that started as a solution to an often overlooked need of our young people today. In this world, full of distractions, where values often get mixed and confused, young people struggle to find their way to a healthy and fulfilling existence. The once clear “role models”, have become very confusing in their message and example. A lot of superficial philosophies and ways of existence are competing for young people's attention every day. The need for a healthy guidance has never been more needed than today. Stability, a clear message and example and a lot of patience is something that young people need but they rarely find. They need leaders, mentors, inspiring examples. Our aim with this project is to deliver the necessary skills to the youth workers that can and are willing to face this challenge. The job of a leader is not easy but can be so rewarding. We, the partners, AIBF-Anguilla, Sinnos - Italy, Incorpore Academy - Spain, 4Youth - Poland, Impress - Romania, have designed the best activities for our 25 youth workers, that will create the proper environment for them to develop their skills. Our objectives are clear: 1. During the 7 month of the project, the 25 youth workers involved will improve their knowledge about leadership (roles, styles, ethics, methods) and will understand the importance of implementing leadership in their work. 2. During the 7 months of the project, the 25 youth workers involved will improve their leadership skills (mentoring, coaching, motivation, communication, management, getting results, decision making) and apply them in their activities. 3. By the end of the 7 months, the 25 youth workers involved will plan their future work by creating a vision and mission for their activities based on leadership principles and taking steps towards it. By the end of the project we expect to start to see the results of our work: better skilled, motivated youth workers, that can guide the young people from our communities towards an active citizenship, courageous vision about our future and the willingness to pursue that vision long term.
