The main objective of this exchange was to establish a practice promoting the emergence of non-formal learning. To do this, we wanted to accompany young people in a process of intercultural dialogue, in the discovery of the reality of other people from a different culture. Using the common passion of music as a tool for building intercultural links seemed relevant to us. The idea was to open our eyes to the points that differentiate us but also to what brings us together and, in particular, our belonging, despite the distance between our two countries, to the European Union. The young Reunionese were received in Belgium from 29/10/2022 to 8/11/2022. We all stay together in a Tournai youth hostel. This aspect seemed essential to us to make the most of this experience and to maximize the social relations between the participants. Discover our city and our culture through visits and socio-cultural activities. These moments of discovery focused mainly on music. The young people had at their disposal all the resources necessary to create a common musical project mixing their different universes. The moments of exchanges made it possible to identify themes that were addressed in their creation. The writing process was organized by mixed subgroups. It was a pretext to become acquainted, to become aware of the realities of the Other, its values, customs, opinions, etc. Our objectives were to: - Develop tolerance - Ability to accept the Other in its difference - Fostering the capacity to create intercultural social ties - Ability to break out of habit - Getting young people involved in a long-term project - Completion of tasks related to the drafting of the dossier and the organization of the various stages of the project - Ability to organize, plan the steps required to make a project a reality actors - Develop awareness of intercultural learning. - Developing solidarity - Mutual enrichment through the discovery of the values of others - Studio production of an audio tape for the production of a music video.
