Objectives

OBJECTIVES AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT One of the major issues most EU countries are currently dealing with is the lack of integration and social exclusion of migrants, especially during the last years, with a important increasement of the arrivals of asylum seekers and refugees to the different Member States. Such problem is at the core of the general debate on both EU principles and policies as it concerns, on the one hand, the need and opportunity of cooperation amongst countries and, on the other, the threat of their decommitment and isolation. Unfortunately, the xenophobic speech has been growing during the last years among the society of the different European countries, including among youngsters. Considering this issue, the "Different countries? Same world!" (DCSW) project aims to contribute in enhancing the integration of migrants in the society by training 25 youth workers to deal with anti-immigration speeches of youngsters, enhancing their skills in order to be able to shape intolerance into tolerance. The project will pay special attention to the reinforcement of the youth workers' skills in two different fields: - enhance the youth workers' skills in the field of the development of critical thinking among youth; - enhancement of the youth workers' abilities in using the knowledge and awareness about migration's history of European countries as a tool to fight intolerance among youngsters.
