A Story To Tell was created by young people for young people. The project is an initiative of young people from several European countries who want to show their peers that they have the power and knowledge to influence positive change by acting as active citizens in their societies. To give them the opportunities they have to develop their personal and professional skills through non-formal education and their ideas through European projects. "Digital storytelling" is a relatively new term that describes the new practice of everyday people who use digital tools to tell their "story" and message. Digital stories are often present in compelling and emotionally engaging formats and can be interactive. The main goals of this project are: to show young people that they can influence their society in their role as active citizens; To help them realize that they are and should be responsible for their own well-being and that of the society and the world in which they live; to develop through the methodology of Digital Storytelling the skills necessary for the active participation of young people (creative thinking, decision-making, listening, effective communication, collaboration, planning, teamwork, etc.), to feel solidarity and involvement with the community. The Digital Storytelling methodology develops not only the 21st century skills required for the active participation of young people (creative thinking, decision making, listening, effective communication, collaboration, planning, teamwork, etc.), but most importantly that it emphasizes the importance of empathy, work with and for the community - therefore it develops solidarity and active citizenship.
