Objectives

Erasmus+ Youth Exchnage “Е+ Heritage” is designed to be implemented in Kardzhali, Bulgaria in May, 2020 in cooperation with six partner organizations: Arteam Bulgaria (Sofia), Navissos from Serbia, Sosyal Inovasyon ve Girisimcilik Dernegi from Turkey, nowHere+ from Italy and Zdruzenie Mladniski Sovet Bosilovo Bosilovo from The Republic Of North Macedonia. Culture is the expression of how we perceive the world, how we interpret our environment and assess the people we meet. Our personal interpretation of what we perceive is guided by such diverse factors as affections, convictions, preconceived notions, beliefs and values. Promoting culture, we foster tolerance, the ability to accept the own and to embrace the other. Cultural heritage implies a shared bond, our belonging to a community. It represents our history and our identity; our bond to the past, to our present, and the future. Knowing our and other nations’ culture gives us a better self-awareness and increases our tolerance towards others. Knowing our culture, our history and our roots makes us feel more self conscious and proud of being part of the European society, having common history and traditions and still being authentic and unique. Management of cultural diversity requires efforts that are more active, better structured and more participatory, based on mutual understanding and respect for basic cultural values. Intercultural dialogue, which can be understood as a process consisting of an open exchange of views, with mutual respect, between individuals and groups of different ethnic, cultural, religious and linguistic backgrounds and heritage is one of the main objectives of the youth exchange. This is needed more than ever, as the increasing openness to globalization represents both an opportunity to promote diversity and creativity, and a challenge to Europe's ability to guarantee the existence of united societies and preserving the existing cultural heritages. Objectives: 1) Exploring the concept of cultural heritage and cultural identity, understanding the importance of exploring it, sharing it and accepting it as well as understanding cultures and cultural heritage as joint construction of the legacy of physical artifacts and intangible attributes of a group or society that is inherited from past generations 2) Understanding different cultural patterns in Europe and finding the best solution for promoting debate, research and exchange knowledge and good practices on the quality of promoting, preserving and contemporary interventions on cultural heritage 3) To raise participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, to actively participate in society and develop a sense of European citizenship and identity 4) To promote non-formal education and Erasmus+ Program as a support tool for developing intercultural competences In addition, project supports specific objectives of the E+ YiA Program through improving the level of key competences and skills of young people, including those with fewer opportunities and promoting social inclusion and solidarity. This is why the project will gather 30 participants from Bulgaria, Serbia, Turkey, Italy and The Republic Of North Macedonia to share, and extend their current knowledge and skills and to acquire new ones with regards to culture and cultural heritage. Used methods will be non-formal, informal, encouraging identification with the content of the project and maximizing the learning effect. Project will achieve desired impact on local, national, European and international level through disseminating the project results by bringing them to the attention of a broader audience. This audience includes youngsters living around us, family members, friends, our local communities, our friends and partner organizations from Europe and all over the world. The Youth Exchange will include role-plays, small group discussions and other non-formal education methods which are dynamic and structured to elicit and enrich the knowledge of participants about culture, cultural heritage, cultural identity, social awareness, as the increasing openness to globalization represents both - an opportunity to promote diversity and creativity and a challenge to Europe's ability to guarantee the existence of united societies and preserving the existing cultural heritages. Apart from this, participants will have the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, to actively participate in society and develop a sense of European citizenship and identity.
