The main idea of the project “Youth Catalyst 2.0” was to support starting trainers in acquiring tools, methods and principles needed to be a good quality trainer, who is able to design impactful and inclusive non formal education learning programmes. Part of the programme was also a practice - designing and delivering workshops within the training group, all leading to the participants feeling more confident and ready to work with youth in their organisations. PROJECT OBJECTIVES were: To understand the role, responsibilities, competences and requirements of a trainer, and its differences to the other educational roles, To understand basic concepts of learning processes design (non-formal education, Kolb cycle, NAOMIE), To learn practices that increase inclusion in education (group dynamics, conflict resolution, audience management, feedback, learning styles, VAK), especially in the context of intercultural learning, To be able to implement the concepts in practice, in the design of own learning activities, To identify own unique trainer style, based on own strengths and culture, To encourage international cooperation, new partnerships, projects, and knowledge exchange among youth workers throughout Europe, To have an online Toolbox spread among all the partners and public, reaching at least 2400 people (300 in each country), a practical resource of activities supporting youth workers to promote cooperation, inclusion and other European values. In the project application stage we also included an objective “To spread European values of diversity and cooperation to 90 students in Neveklov school and to at least 120 youth in the 8 involved countries” which was not fulfilled due to the safety reasons, more information below.
