Access for disadvantagedInclusion - equityYouth (Participation, Youth Work, Youth Policy)

Objectives

With this project we wanted to above all promote equity and inclusion. The main objectives were to promote among participants aged 15-17 coming from 7 different EU countries (2 southern, 2 central and 3 northern) of whom at least half would be facing disadvantages or fewer opportunities in 10 days mobility in North Bohemia, but due to pandemic the project was postponed till summer 2022 with changes in partnerships (change in Latvian organisation and Estonian partner not coming, shortening mobility days). The second objective was to involve community directly in the activities with the participants which we managed with slight changes due to change of location (from Stare Splavy to Liberec). The third objective was to promote the outcomes of this project via film made which we changed due to pandemic-influenced youth to making various short videos we presented ad are further presenting within our communities the main objectives and sharing the values related to the project. The main method of work was the concept of the Theatre of the Oppressed which best served to meet the needs of the target group and objectives of this project. We wanted to carry out this project for the main reason being the growing amount of excluded youngsters in today´s society who are facing various obstacles which leads to their further discrimination. Next, at the time we prepared this project (in 2018-2019) the society was being challenged with inclusion of people, children and Youth of various disadvantages and major society was facing challenges arising from lack of knowledge how to approach such target groups including proffessional Youth workers and often causing contrary growing discrimination, intolerance and lack of solidarity. Further reason why we wanted to carry out this project was to develop all involved partners and workers proffessional competences for their Youth work in favour of disadvantaged youngsters. Along with promoting equity, social inclusion, tolerance and solidarity further objectives of this project were promoting EU values and mission, enhancing and developing social and civic competences, languages, raising cultural awareness and expression and enhancing creativity. Among involved partners/workers increasing professional competences, establishing new cooperation, gaining knowledge of new approaches and methods to be used with disadvantaged youngsters. All leading to shifting in positive way perspective on inclusion and equity, solidarity and tolerance; fighting prejudice related to EU values and different cultures; for involved partners finding ways how to tackle new challenges, deepening our own professional competences and gaining deeper insight into Youth work towards disadvantaged. These all contributing to more cohesive society of today´s European Union. Link to the objectives of the Programme and specific key action - Through increased opportunities for learning mobility of disadvantaged youngsters contributing to more cohesive society - Via activities fostering quality and improvement in our transnational cooperation among partners coming from various sectors (formal/ nonformal edu) - Generally improving language competences and promoting EU's broad linguistic diversity and intercultural awareness - Improving competences and skills of young people including those with fewer opportunities, promoting social inclusion and solidarity - Increasing self-empowerment and self-esteem, contributing to more active participation in society, raising awareness of the European projects and EU values - Improving competences of involved proffessionals linked to their daily work brodaning their understanding of interconnections between formal and nonformal education and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity increasing their ability to address the needs of disadvantaged and improving our methods and practises - Incresing own capacity to cooperate on international level, improving management skills, increasing quality in preparation, implementation, monitoring and follow up of EU projects With this project we aimed to reach marginalised young people, promote diversity, common values of tolerance and respect of human rights along with enhancing critical thinking and equipping Youth workers with competences to transfer those fundamental values of our society particularly to the hard to reach young people. Even though this project was influenced by pandemic we managed to fulfill the above objectives of the project despite slightly changed activities. We believed this project could deeply contribute to permanent improvement ot the present situation with sustainable outcomes and deep life long impact especially now after pandemic and with the Ukraine conflict consequences.
