This project was developed to, first of all, answer identified needs of partner organizations and youth workers, leaders and trainers and to support them in development of competences need for acting against hate speech targeting Muslim community in Europe. This project aims to empower both participants and partner organizations to stand against hate speech targeting Muslims, especially in online environments. Based on WE Can manual, training will propose a set of online and offline communication and educational approaches and tools to undermine discrimination expressed through hatefull narratives. By involving new organizations who are still not part of the NoHateMakers Network we will ensure expansion and sustainability, same as additional capacities to work in the field of human rights protection and combating hate speech in the future. Project will also support and continue mission and vision of No Hate Speech Movement. The purpose of this project is to increase the number of individuals and organizations, spread the methodology used for development of counter and alternative narratives and support use of the tools that can effectively tackle problem of islamophobia and hate speech targeting Muslims (WE CAN! manual) which, as it was described and explained throughout the project, is burning problem and human rights threat across Europe. With this project we want to make impact and positive changes – direct and indirect, shot-term and long-term, on different levels – from local levels of partner organizations to international level. We also want to have impact on different target groups: young people, youth workers and leaders, online activists and citizens in general but above all, on all those who are discriminating and spreading hateful narratives. Aim: • to empower participants (youth workers/leaders/trainers) and to support development of capacities of partner organizations to combat hate speech specifically targeting Muslims, especially online. Objectives: • explore and reflect on the sources of Islamophobia • encourage critical thinking and discussion about Islamophobia in European context • support development of competences of youth workers, leaders and trainers in the field of human rights education, particularly in combating hate speech targeting Muslims through counter and alternative narratives • encourage usage of WE CAN! manual and counter and alternative narratives in work with young people as a tool to confront Islamophobia • raise the awareness about link between hateful narratives and youth radicalization and encourage the use of this tool in its prevention • provide space for capacity building of partner organization, strengthen the cooperation and assure the sustainability of NoHateMakers network
