With this project, we wanted to address the great concerns of more and more young people regarding the foundations of their lives. In the face of frequent and uncontrollable natural disasters, the causes of which turn out to be man-made, we wanted to open up an opportunity to exchange ideas about the manifestations and causes of climate change as well as solutions. The aim of this project was to help the young people to better assess the different positions of the debate on climate change (climate protection versus jobs, climate change denial, battle for effective measures, global South versus global North . . . ). In order to achieve this, it was necessary to first deal with manifestations of the changing climate and to compare impressions from different regions, at least in Europe. The participants should deal with the phenomena of climate change, their causes and strategies for solving them, as well as develop ideas for their own constructive engagement. Among other things, the participants addressed the following questions: How does climate change affect the participants? What changes are they observing in their region? What specific concerns do they have? What are their fears? What role does the economy play in this? Who decides on the use of resources and what are the criteria for doing so? Can young people have an influence? Are they already doing it? Are there differences in the participating countries? Are their fears and suggestions heard? Can the progressive destruction of our livelihoods be stopped? What's in our hands? In addition to the specific individual opportunities offered in the usual way, such as refraining from meat or travelling, young people should deal with the phenomena and consequences, but also the reasons for the changing climate, and think about possible and meaningful social responses. Other objectives of the project were: - Raising awareness of the subject as a European issue with possibly different needs, - Get to know sections of social, economic and political everyday conditions in the participating countries, - developing an understanding of attitudes in other countries, - transfer of experience in international teams, - development or strengthening of acting, dancing or singing skills, - the development of constructive ways of dealing with different ways of thinking and perspectives as well as other strategies of action, - strengthening the foreign language skills of the participants.
