Objectives

The main need we would love to address through this training is the need of seeking new ways for promoting understanding and tolerance between young people in the nowadays culturally diverse Europe. Another need is usage of innovative means of communication to work with youth. Those needs are especially visible amongst organizations based outside EU who often lack opportunities to take part in educational activities providing them with innovative digital methods that can be used while working with youth with diverse cultural background. The proposed course aims at bringing European Youth workers together and training them how infographics can be used as a tool for promoting anti- discriminative and non-violent message among youth. During the project participants will go through intensive set of workshops giving them a chance to learn the basics of infographics. They will learn how to create own posters based on the information to be communicated to the audience using a peaceful approach. The use of Infographics has become very popular since the late 80s because of its acknowledged contribution as a tool for illustrating, communicating and analysing information for social, educational and business-related contexts. It is a universal tool which can be employed during international projects as a means of intercultural learning and promotion of culture of peace. Infographics is the concept that combines several vital aspects – more efficient and quicker information perception, highly engaging method that also explores the digital ways of visual arts. Infographics as a valuable modernized tool shall be used during the training course as a means to express, illustrate, and promote various aspects of intercultural dialogue in an interactive and engaging way. The objectives of the project are : -To provide participants with the knowledge of infographics as a new digital tool to approach the topic of intercultural dialogue -To equip them with the skills necessary to design and implement quality projects for intercultural dialogue in their own respective communities -To explore how infographics and other related tools can be further on shared with young people who can use them in their daily activities -To show participants how to differentiate and make nonviolent posters using creative visual tools -To promote the culture of peace and Intercultural learning among youth leaders working with communities of diverse cultural backgrounds. -To establish a network of like-minded organisations and individuals, who are interested in the further exchange on the topic of using creative visual tools and methods for working with youth -To develop a concrete plan for follow up projects focus on promoting intercultural dialogue.
