The QueerEUrope project put the focus on the general question how gender definitions affect the society, how they can give privileges or can limit freedom and how we can try to share those privileges in order to raise appreciation of diverse ways of life.SVLS is a specialized organisation on LGBT youth matters. In our youth centres we offer spaces for gays, lesbians and transgenders, where they can exchange each other and can access counselling service. In one of our LGBT youth centres we run a youth group that is only dedicated to young transgenders. With our European youth projects we offered international mobilities for young LGBT people and empowerment opportunities for LGBT youth workers or activists. As formalized structures (like the one of svls) are very rare in specific LGBT youth work and even hardly exists in many EU countries, we transfered our competencies and structural knowledge to LGBT youth groups abroad in order to professionalize their work. We gained new ideas and work approaches from their youth work, they offer to young LGBT people in their local environments, mostly on voluntary base.
