On the one hand, young people in particular move incredibly safely on the Internet and with new forms of communication and are often referred to as "digital natives". On the other hand, digitalisation also brings with it many problems and dangers, both for the individual and for our democracies. Two youth encounters are the focus of the project: The first youth encounter focuses on challenges of digitisation, especially fake news and big data, the second youth encounter deals with communication online and offline, and focuses on participation possibilities of digitisation for democracy and future visions for a digital European society. This project aims to raise participants' awareness of socio-political debates, democratic debate and intercultural dialogue by experiencing, getting to know and questioning other views and values. The project should actively strengthen the European consciousness of the participants by highlighting the socially relevant topic of digitisation from the perspective of a united Europe as well as individual member states (keyword: change of perspective). At the same time, it should promote intercultural, social and action-oriented competences of the participants through its meeting character. With the help of the project results, a broad public should be sensitised to the topic and in particular to the perspective of young Europeans. Concrete campaigns and actions developed by the participants encourage people to become active and committed themselves.
