Objectives

The idea of the project was based on previous experiences of other international projects in which some members of EDEN, Teatro Invisibile and IPTA worked on issues related to violence and interpersonal conflicts. The partner organizations in this project expressed their intention to improve their working methods in a way that would enable them to identify and prevent a broader range of violent behaviors. The methodology used by 5 of the partners is mainly based on artistic expression, so their intention was to expand their work with additional methods that would enable them to take a holistic approach to the prevention of violence. The intention of the project was to give youth work professionals the opportunity to learn about methods of violence prevention that they can put into practice in their work. Furthermore, the intention was to create a learning environment in which participants have the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of violence and its origins. Among other things, aggression, abuse and ritual violence were to be addressed. In order to cover as many aspects of violence as possible, different approaches were to be used in the project: Cognitive knowledge, experiential learning, and introspective reflection. The main activity of the project consisted of an eight-day training course designed to introduce the target group to the subject matter through a multidisciplinary approach based on cognitive, kinesthetic, and emotional exploration. The objectives of the project were: -To train 27 youth workers to recognize patterns that promote and counteract violence. -To provide participants with a set of preventive measures that they can implement in their work to prevent the occurrence of violent acts. -Increasing the competence of the target group in applying holistic approaches in their work, which include cognition as well as experiential orientation -Developing a transnational structure of youth workers inspired and interested in developing ongoing international projects that address concepts of youth violence. -Encouraging youth workers to act as multipliers of violence prevention and to disseminate project results.
