Objectives

Since the beginning of the Erasmus+ program and its predecessors more than 20 years ago, the organizations and people who implement these international mobilities has changed quite a bit. On the begnning there were few NGOs, some youth houses and other institutions who mainly implement the programs. In the last 10-15 years a lot of grass-root organizations were formed (such as ours and our partners) that are found by the young people who went on those programs, so the organizations need continues improvement, increasing of their knowledge and capacity. However, not so many training course are organized that address the organizational aspect of the youthwork, but rather focus on the facilitation, and the competences to manage teams and run the organization, or managing the finances are being neglected, so the NGOs are still struggling in reaching high quality in those organizational aspects. The idea for this training course was born during the training course "Recognition of Youthwork/ers" in May 2018. Several people working on this application were part of that training and created this project as a follow up activity that is tailored to their needs. The main conclusion was that there is a lot of young youth workers, who have great ideas and motivation, but they are lacking knowledge, skills and experience to organize such activities. Since in many European countries, including some participating on this project, there's no official university for youth workers, people who decide to spend their life doing youth work, often don't have chance to get this necessary skills that would help them in their work with the youth. This training course address that issue. The main objective of the project is: 1) Informing and Training 30 participants about the 8 competences from the "Competence Model for Youth Workers", with the aim of raising the quality of their youth work. The competences on which we will focus during the training are: - Facilitating individual and group learning in an enriching environment; - Designing programmes; - Organising and managing resources; - Collaborating successfully in teams; - Communicating meaningfully with others; - Displaying intercultural competence; - Networking and advocating; - Developing evaluative practices to assess and implement appropriate change. Other objectives of the project are: 2) To support youth organizations in increasing the capacity of their work and thereby - foster quality improvements in youth work through international cooperation. 3) To Identify and address the challenges that youth workers face in their work. 4) To create space for sharing knowledge and exchanging experiences and good practices with the atmosphere of common understanding between youth workers representing different cultures, working styles and coming from 20 different organizations. 5) Increasing the knowledge and skills of youth workers from the 9 European and neighbouring countries, with emphasis on youth workers from small and medium-sized NGOs, newly established associations and informal groups of young people active in youth work The final goal of the project is to: 6) To establish long-term partnership among partners on this project and to start a cooperation, organizing project with this topic every year in a different country and training hundreds of youth workers in the years to come. The objectives of this project are closely related to the goals of the Erasmus+ program, in particular with the "KA1 Youth" goals. The training course will equip youth workers with knowledge and methods of working with the youth and increasing the quality of work within their organization. The training course will provide youth workers with the opportunity to improve their core competencies, which will lead to greater quality of their work. This training course encourages have the opportunity to increase their network of international contacts and learn from examples of good practices from other associations and also share their challenges and potential solutions to some of the challenges other youth workers are facing. The aims and objectives of the project come in the high resonance of Erasmus+ objectives in youth field and KA 1 since the project will foster quality improvements in youth work, in particular through enhanced cooperation between organizations in the youth field, enhance the international dimension of youth activities and enhance the capacity of youth workers. Also, the main topics of the project are based on the principles of the Europe 2020 Strategy. Within this TC we will create the space where participants will discuss European Values, Youth Work, European Identity, etc. Our project will increase the competences of the youth workers and capacities of the organizations from different countries working in youth field, will equip youth workers with competences and methods needed for transferring the common values on local, national and international level.
