Three years have passed since this project was written. Three years of life-changing events such as the pandemic, wars and political changes. The initial idea of this project was to involve young people with fewer opportunities and diverse backgrounds to come and be active participants even without a strong knowledge of the language and with the changes mentioned above, the implementation of this project became even more crucial than ever. The core of the project stayed the same, but unfortunately, with the events happened in Belarus in 2020, after which more than a thousand non-govermental organisations were forcefully liquidated, one of the partner organizations Youth Centre "Fialta" was replaced by a Lithuanian partner, as it was impossible for young Belarusians, and sometimes dangerous, to obtain visas and later travel to another country. We also believe that acceptance of diversity is an essential feature for peaceful coexistence. That is why the main idea for this ‘diversity project’ was to gather young people from rural areas with no international experience and create for them a safe space to talk about the importance of diversity by using non-verbal ways of expression. Since this project was aiming to be very inclusive, for us it is important to give the opportunity to every participant to express him/herself and nonverbal ways of expression such as performance, forum theatre, pantomime and etc. are the best way to conduct the intercultural non-verbal dialogue. The seminar aimed to give those youngsters the opportunity to make their first step and break both language and cultural barriers. In doing so, the youth exchange aimed to prevent radicalisation of young people, empower them to stand against discrimination and racism and promote cultural differences as an important part of our society. Considering the context described above, this project's main goals were to: - to give youngsters with fewer opportunities chance to learn and explore - make the participants more confident and open-minded - help to overcome the language and cultural barriers - to endorse them to be active citizens of the society - by using forum theatre and performance promote diversity and social inclusion - to prevent the radicalization of socially vulnerable young people - to promote European values based on individual freedom, tolerance, and respect for Human Rights - provide youngsters with knowledge and skills to tackle the issues mentioned before Since this project was about diversity, it was directly connected to the objectives Erasmus+ program for this year such as promotion of cultural diversity, intercultural and religious dialogue and avoiding radicalization of young people and enable us to communicate the fundamental and shared values of our society.
