Objectives

The youth exchange "We Can Do It" for people with and without disabilities offers young people a special opportunity to deal with the topic of disabilities and the different-foreign in a creative way in workshops, a cultural program, language animations, leisure activities and through to deal with the everyday togetherness It creates a space to get to know each other, to exchange ideas, to get closer to each other and to understand each other better. The aim is for young people from eleven countries in Europe and the Caucasus to think about the issue of disability and, related to this, about the integration of young people with disabilities in their local societies. They tackle the topic in various mixed national workshops and use methods of non-formal learning. With this project we would like to contribute to the promotion of social inclusion, through which everyone can freely develop their individuality and be accepted by others. The focus of the project is the equality of each individual. It is aimed, analogous to the last season, the Youth encounters should take place in as many countries participating in the project as possible and be organized by the youth groups themselves. The youth encounter applied for here took place in Nabran, Azerbaijan in the summer of 2022 after many postponements due to Corona and then because of the war in Ukraine. As in 2019, we applied for a seminar for the leaders with the same partner organizations. Two youth workers from each partner organization were invited to a one-week seminar in Tbilisi in March 2020. The aim was to give them the time and opportunity to exchange information about their own work and the respective youth policies with regard to inclusion in their countries in a structured manner. In Tbilisi they visited so-called "lighthouse projects" on this topic and disseminated the results of the youth exchange to a large audience in Tbilisi.
