The exchange "Together we can do it II" took place from October 23 to November 2, 2021 in Trasmulas near Granada (Spain). The target group were 26 young people from Spain and Germany - mostly with increased need for support - who already lived together in a joint project in Spain in autumn 2019. The project was actually planned to be carried out in spring 2020. Due to the pandemic, the implementation period and the location of the meeting have been changed. All group members are living in very disadvantaged neighborhoods of their cities. The project "Together II" offered marginalized young people with learning difficulties or social difficulties a framework for new opportunities for personal development detect. It was about the integration of young people affected by social exclusion and improving coexistence (at school), promoting respect and solidarity between young people from different countries, with different lifestyles backgrounds to fight against racist and xenophobic tendencies. We motivated young people with learning difficulties to continue to learn and opened up new perspectives for them. In addition, we also offered young people a framework in which they could talk about their situation and could think about their difficulties at school. Together they developed options for action to improve their situation. In the last years we have had many complaints from students about unfair treatment, violence and received discrimination in school. Bullying is a serious problem and teachers often do not know what they can do. With our project we wanted to lay the foundation for a good coexistence (in the classroom) create and support students with special needs. We dealt with the (re)discovery of our own cultural identity and reflected on it so that we can develop new perspectives on our diverse society. We sat down in thematic workshops with individual experiences of exclusion (when are/were you excluded? At what points did you exclude another person?) apart and have developed ideas together with the young people, so that they can be able to change something in the local environment and work for the preservation of human rights and the being able to use value tolerance argumentatively. The participants have dealt with the topic "Together we can do it" in different ways and in different places; we worked with experiential education methods, visited places of remembrance, explored the rural area but also the city of Granada. There were also activities that promoting intercultural dialogue (language animation, intercultural evenings, methods of intercultural youth work). The participants improved their cooperative and communicative skills while gaining confidence and self-esteem. They dealt with topics and questions in an international and multilingual group apart and thus broadened their perspectives and worldview. In the three main workshops - painting, circus and nutrition - the young people prepared an interactive afternoon presenting the results of their workshops to Spanish families, Teachers, politicians and interested young people presented. People from from the neighborhood were invited along with local politicians. With this educational experience we offered young people at risk of social exclusion are or are already socially excluded, new opportunities for personality development. we contributed to the fact that racist tendencies and xenophobia among the participants were questioned. We made new learning experiences possible for young people with learning difficulties and opened up alternative (professional) future prospects for them.
