Objectives

The Youth Exchange program was dedicated to gather young people from different countries and to put some of the sensitive and essential topics on the agenda in order to debate, increase knowledge, enhance understanding and eliminate misunderstandings. Informal tools and exercises such as art, roleplay and music, were applied to exchange ideas, perspectives and learning in order to have an opportunity to express yourself through softer channels. Diversity, intercultural dialogues, tolerance, freedom of speech and society awareness were promoted. Through nine days, the participants bonded new relationships with people who had different competencies that were exchanged. At the end of the journey, everyone gained some sort of valuable contribution that they took home with them to share with their local community members. Within the youth exchange, we developed a strategic partnership by working on a series of actions in a logical and pedagogical sequence responding to the needs of the young members of our respective associations. The work that each partner carrie out at local/national level was remarkable, but we truly believe that to broaden the borders and create a network of exchange of good practices, initiatives and possibilities, it was a positive signal that was demonstrated that diversity and collaboration increased value for the outcome of the project. The main aim of our project was to create awareness of the reality which surrounded us, and how non-formal learning can enhance the understanding of equality between gender and human rights. The objectives were summarized in the following points: The objectives of the project: •To raise young people’s awareness about challenges related to gender inequality •To find our ways how young people can support the inclusion process of female representatives of marginalized/vulnerable groups •To promote inter-cultural inter-religious dialogue between young people •To create a network of like-minded organizations and individuals ready to cooperate on future activities aiming at promoting cultural diversity •To increase tolerance and understanding of equal gender and learn how to use the opportunities of the Erasmus+ programme to succeed in our objectives The project objectives were also linked to the specific objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme in the field of youth: •Improvement of the level of key competencies and skills of young people, including those with fewer opportunities •Promotion of active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity
