Objectives

Enter Dignityland is a youth exchange, which was developed as tool to help young people to understand the concept of social rights, notice the violence of not accessing it and help those in need. Have the European Social Charter as base and background; we will approach the idea of Social Rights in different levels: Housing, Education, Health, Employment, Non-Discrimination, Legal and Social Protection and Movement of Persons. We will work and share on case, examples and community in practice. Together, we will be working on improving the “good examples” on how to motivate youngsters aware and active on their community and beyond. The end goal of the exchange is to support the professional development of young activists and to raise the quality of their projects concerning Social Rights in disadvantaged communities. Rather than just giving participants the knowledge of social rights, we want to provide them with tools and methods so that they could make an impact in their communities. We have heard from many youth workers how they see challenges in their societies, but they have not many ideas and information how to support youngsters. Either it's conserning the education or right to privacy, youth workers should be able to inform youngster and help them to fulfill their basic rights. Especially now when we have young migrants whose rights are violated most commonly. We believe that the term "Social Rights" has become a broad buzz word that is often used without much of specific meaning and content. Therefore, When ENTER DIGNITYLAND intends to be an attempt at approaching the meaning and significance of European Social Rights in the context of the Social Charter. This we believe, cannot be achieved without a consideration of the other realms where rights comes into play. Here, duties, responsibilities and opportunities for participation arise from being part of community or nation and to understand and act in order to see our rights fulfilled. The ways in which these concepts are connected to the notions inside the European Social Charter and its practical examples shall be the guiding questions for the exchange. More precisely, we have set ourselves a twofold aim: 1. Connecting the European Social Charter within its practical implementation We depart from a shared observation: local participation occurs largely in isolated realms. Active youngsters often find it hard to connect their respective activities and commitment to the larger context within which they take place. 2. Bringing Young People Together With ENTER DIGNITYLAND we intend to bring together people from different backgrounds and origins. The understanding of what Social Rights means may vary across the European context. This diversity of understandings promises to enrich each individual youth activist‘s awareness of what non-formal education may achieve when it deals with Rights. The establishment of concrete methods in civic education and the development of an relevant tools will allow participants to function as multipliers in their respective contexts. Thus, ENTER DIGITILAND intends to offer networking opportunities in order to gain knowledge, insights and ideas into what people from diverse contexts understand and practice as civic education actors.
