Objectives

This project was developed by USB and its partners, based on the EU Framework for National Roma Integration Strategies, through which the Member States made an unprecedented commitment towards promoting Roma inclusion in four key areas: education, employment, healthcare and housing. Among others, this means that the Member States should ensure, as a minimum, primary school completion and to make sure that Roma children are not subject to discrimination or segregation. The“AIM ROMA” training course aimed to address and educate youth workers on Roma youth school-drop and how to attack some of the causes of this early school drop. It included 30 youth workers, educators, trainers and youth leaders and provided them with specific tools and teaching skills which were adapted to the needs of Roma youth so to raise the number of Roma youth attending schools in 9 local communities. Participants gained skills and competences on how to address these issues and work for the better of this target group, how to run complementary activities in schools with Roma pupils so to raise attractiveness of school. The project's objectives were: I. For the youth workers: -To equip 30 youth workers with attractive non-formal methodology used as complementary in school activities with Roma pupils: team-building/trust games, energizers, communication/leadership/problem-solving games, HRs methods for 8 days; -To raise the knowledge level of 30 youth workers about the Roma youth culture, mentalities, traditions, social practices, needs and superstitions for 8 days using demo sessions; II.
