Objectives

Why is it important to adopt more environmentally friendly habits? What's the relationship between over-consumerism and climate change? What is the proper way to recycle? What should I never put in my recycling bin(s)? Could I re-use some items? How can we get our friends and family more environmentally conscious? These are only some of the questions our project will focus on, during the six days of our youth exchange. Our project intends to raise awareness and sense of responsibility of young people towards our planet. Through this experience, participants will learn in an interactive way, about recycling and reusing and how to be more environmentally conscious. They will have the opportunity to gain and develop important competencies, such as creativity, communication, teamworking, responsibility and innovation by taking part in non-formal education activities that include creative workshops, brainstorming, team-group activities, outdoor activities and presentations. Moreover, many of the activities will be engaged through art, so as to give to the participants a chance to express themselves and boost creative thinking and imagination. We are facing a common problem, that of climate change, so we need to unite and work together to achieve a common goal. Our project targets to inspire people to band together and dedicate themselves passionately in this direction and also make others aware of this situation too. Analytically, the project aims to carry out the following objectives: • Change the prevalent way of thinking and acting on the environment in order to be more environmentally conscious • Motivate young people to be more active in environmental issues and concerns • Learn how to apply eco-friendly processes, such as recycling and re-using on everyday life • Raise awareness of environmental issues of young people in order to become the “voice” for the next generations • Overcome wrong theories and practics about the environment and procedures as recycling • Find effective ways to reuse our "garbage" • Gain a global perspective on a modern-day issue • Offer the chance to people from different countries and backgrounds to exchange their ideas and concerns and work together on a subject that regards everyone • Understand that there are no borders towards universal problems and concerns • Contribute to EU's zero waste policy • Encourage young people to transmit their knowledge to their environment • Develop cultural awareness and open-mindedness • Give the chance to young people to live the experience of Erasmus+ programs and develop themselves • Promote intercultural dialogue and team working among the citizens of the EU • Promote the Youthpass certificate Our project's ultimate goal is to play its part in helping our planet, by reversing the effects of climate change. We believe that the best way to achieve this aspiration is by involving young people from different countries and backgrounds to take part in this matter of global concern. The power is in our hands, we just need to realize it and take action!
