The major aim of the project “Make your voice HeaRD” was to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies of motivated youth workers and leaders in the field of online activism in order to act as key influencers for the promotion of human rights and democratic societies. For that, we did with our partners the campaigns like #itisokay, INCLUSIVE, Inter-action campaign, OK, and REmovatite. The project focused on the concepts of digital youth work, online activism, and information and media literacy so that youth workers can design and plan influential initiatives in their communities. Participants at the same time promoted active citizenship as a core value of democratic societies. The idea for this project was generated as a follow-up from a previous training course run by United Societies of Balkans, “Storytelling for Human Rights – National Training Course for Youth Workers” in Greece, co-funded by the Council of Europe. To achieve these aims the project organizer had the following objectives to be reached: - To train 24 youth workers about different social media tools that serve as platforms of persuasive communication and online activism through which they can influence other young people. - To educate about a Human Rights and Democracy based culture, European values, social inclusion and the role of digital youth work in the promotion of these. - To provide competencies, knowledge and skills for youth workers about digital youth, the formation of a message aimed at a specific target group, digital creativity and media literacy. - To educate participants on how to design, develop and implement social media campaigns and activities with their organizations to promote active citizenship among young people related to specific social issues. - To create a network of the 8 participating organizations and collaborate on implementing the regional, local or European follow-up activities of the project until the end of the implementation period. These objectives were consistent with the objectives of the Erasmus programme and Key Action 1 on the mobility of youth workers, as they aim to promote respect for human rights, diversity, intercultural dialogue and European values by increasing media literacy and key competencies relevant to the professional development and employability of youth workers. The project promoted active participation in social issues and the inclusion of marginalised groups through the existing network of participating organisations. It has also stimulated participants' creativity and innovative thinking towards social movements, and campaigns and strengthened cooperation and capacity-building between participating organisations and young people from different European countries through the creation of online campaigns reaching out to local, regional and European communities. The objectives also promoted European values under Article 2 of the Treaty on the European Union.
