With the training course “Lead On” we targeted people who are in a role of leading a team, a youth group, a youth programme, etc. and want to become an inspiring and authentic leader, who is able to motivate and empower others. We wanted to empower youth leaders in their own leadership competences when working with youth. We aimed to support the participants in grounding themselves in the leader role, in discovering different ways of cooperating and communicating with others and achieving the results they want to have, while being able to include and empower all the other team members or people involved. The objectives of “Lead On” training were: To support participating youth workers in becoming more confident in their work with young people and with teams they work with To identify personal strengths of participating youth workers that will serve as building stones for their own leadership style To develop youth workers skills in giving and receiving feedback, problem-solving and clear communication in challenging situations To encourage proactive and accountable attitude in various challenging conditions, taking in consideration and including all the people involved To support youth workers in working out of vision and values that are important for them and in being able to transmit this as an inspiration to others To enhance youth workers value on the labor market through developing the above mentionned competences To empower participating youth workers to create impact in local environment by designing and implementing new community projects To enable exchange and sharing of different leadership practices among different organisations and support international cooperation and networking We conclude (based on the programme delivered and evaluations received) that most of the objectives were achieved successfully. Where we would say “partly achieved” is the objective related to the value on the labour market - this is hard to measure at this point and will be visible in the longer term. Same goes for the practices exchange - partner organisations partly changed due to postponing the project, when selecting the participants, there were numerous drop outs so at the end most of the work and networking was done on the spot. However we know that some of the participants are planning new cooperations together.
