This project aims to provide young people with the knowledge needed in order to have a basic and clear view on the environmental challenges that we face. From plastic pollution to bad air quality and from biodiversity loss to land desertification, a wide variety of similar environmental problems will be covered. Through working together to discover the truth and expressing everyone’s point of view participants will experience the unique sense and power of a European community from a close perspective. This information will be used as a first step in order to motivate them to take action and become more conscious on environmental issues. We intend to light the spark inside their hearts and move forward on becoming Active Citizens. That is because we value Active Citizenship as the core of our democratic life in European Union. While exploring initiatives like volunteering, participate in local community projects and changing the way of living, we will demonstrate that if we want a humanity centered European future, we need to adopt this kind of engagement. At the same time, participants will learn about and talk with Greek based organizations/ initiatives. They will discover the abilities and the potential that groups of people can have, from a local to an international level. “To make a desirable change, we first need to awake and work together starting from a low level”: with that being our motto, participants will widen their horizons, concerning their type of involvement in our democratic states, and will be inspired to become more Active in an effort to preserve our natural environment and therefore assure prosperity for humanity and for Europe.
