Objectives

Why do you want to carry out this Project? After the great success of our first exchange, A New Hope, this project emerges as the natural continuation of that initiative and seeks to repeat its successes and improve everything possible through a more experienced group of young people, we have young people veterans of the previous exchange who now take the place of group leaders. We want to carry out this project in a responsible way to promote self-organization, empowerment and citizen awareness of young Roma, non-Roma and minority communities, particularly young Muslims and Latinos. We intend this through the reinforcement of Europe's fundamental values, civil rights and democratic worldview. It is essential for us from our work philosophy to create a common, participatory space, where respectful communication and non-formal education in youth work, as well as various cultural and educational activities offer young people the opportunity to re-interpret themselves , as positive agents for the social change of their own communities and cities. This is an initiative where the main activities have been designed by THE YOUNG PARTICIPANTS THEMSELVES, some first-timers in this type of exchange, and others with the previous experience that our first Erasmus + project gave us. What are your goals? • The creation of groups led by young people themselves, who during the exchange and afterwards can foster peaceful coexistence, mutual interaction and reflection on social issues and European history and values. We want to carry it out through non-formal education as a fundamental vehicle and different cultural activities that foster the historical recognition of European reality after the Second World War, that is to say the founding values of the EU Union. • The fight against antigypsyism, Islamophobia and other forms of racism, and their historical and structural consequences (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AntiRomanyism)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Islamophobia) Among the Roma and Islamic community in the neighborhood of La Cruz in Callosa de Segura, Valencia, social exclusion and lack of young participation are real problems, also among young participants from other countries, mostly originals from economically depressed neighborhoods and at risk of exclusion. We want inclusion and recognition to be a main theme in the whole process, for all young Roma, non-roma, Muslims and Latino participants, always looking for a balance of gender and ethnic and cultural background. • The strengthening of a network of young representatives of minorities throughout the Valencian territory, where we can use non-formal education and creative methodologies as a vehicle for an inclusive message of active citizenship that enhances fundamental European values, such as democracy, mutual recognition, respect and young participation. • The empowerment and self-organization of young Roma, non-Roma, Muslims and Latinos. • Foster dialogue between the different minorities of the Valencian Community at all levels, from respect and tolerance, emphasizing the cultural richness of the different peoples and communities that inhabit the Barrio La Cruz in Callosa de Segura, Valencia, promoting the positive cultural aspects that are found within the different traditions of all the young participants from different countries especially. • Motivate young people to become fully aware of the problems suffered in their own community , through historical, political and cultural recognition, we expect greater active participation in the future, as models for other young people and as agents multipliers. • Encourage participation as well as work in the youth field of the young Roma community, particularly in Valencia, and by extension in all countries and cities of origin of our project partners. • Promote the construction of networks among young people from different participating minorities, strengthen the young Islamic and Latin civil society of migrant backgrounds in the Valencian territory.
