YPA Spain organized in May 2018 an Erasmus+ funded for youth workers on social entrepreneurship for the creation of inclusive societies. After the success of this training and the different social initiatives that youth workers developed through it, the main request of our Consortium was to deep further on digital skills and digital entrepreneurship as the current sine qua non for the empowerment both of young people and youth workers working with disadvantaged young people. This project is developed in order to address the needs and limitations disadvantaged youth are facing on a daily basis. Young refugees sometimes do not have access to decent housing, though they have a mobile phone with an internet connection. Additionally, there are also young people living in remote and rural areas that have difficult access to schools, however, they possess a smartphone with an internet connection. Therefore, it is possible to conclude from such examples, that online and digital world offers a unique opportunity for empowerment due to its accessibility. Which in turn, can lead to the development and activation of many disadvantaged youth groups. Nevertheless, despite the access to the internet and devices, often digital skills of both young people and fundamentally youth workers who work with them, have strong shortcomings. This is why we suggest that this activity at hand can fill the gap in knowledge of the digital world, which will ultimately contribute to truly connected and inclusive European society. Following these needs, the general objectives of this project are: • To increase the professional skills of youth workers in the area of digital entrepreneurship (digital youth work). • As to have a direct impact on the empowerment and inclusion of disadvantaged youth. The specific goals to be achieved are: • Provide youth workers and their youngsters with digital skills that will enhance their future prospects and motivation in the field of e-entrepreneurship • Creating a setting where there is an exchange of best practices in the field of youth work in order to enhance youth workers capabilities when dealing with needs of disadvantaged youth (namely the skill increase of the disadvantaged youth). • Introduction of applicable innovative methodologies in the field of non-formal education. The emphasis will be drawn on empowerment and inclusion of disadvantaged youth workers. • Broaden the general knowledge of e-entrepreneurship, thus providing more possibilities for employability of youth workers, which leads to an increase in youth work and its impact on the regional, national and European scale. • Creating an environment where there is increased sympathetic awareness of cultural and social responsiveness.
