Objectives

This youth exchange was born out of the interest of all partners in exploring the topic of Contemporary Dance and Greek mythology, as a source of inspiration, to help us connect with the creative and expressive potential of our body. Starting from these characters and the elements of nature that are associated with them, our project brought Contemporary Dance (DC) and work with the body (at an artistic level) to nature. We created from natural spaces where young people were able to investigate, knowing the work area, the element in question (fire, air, water and earth), its history, its legends, the reality that the people who live in those places and ultimately that they could physically experience these elements using their bodies and their imagination to compose DC scenes from the inspiration that the place itself offered us. The project was carried out in the municipality of Caravaca, famous for the diversity and richness of its landscape. Rivers, mountains and exuberant rocks, immense fields of land of different shades, pine and oak forests, and places where the wind never stops. The partners wanted to carry out this project to give young people the opportunity to learn about the creative and non-formal learning possibilities that the rural environment and its people could offer through an intergenerational and intercultural experience where the participants could develop their creativity and skills. of expression with the body in a natural, inspiring environment, while they learned from those people who inhabit those places, their personal stories and the stories that have populated those places. The objectives of the project are: a) Encourage creativity and body expression of the participants. b) Develop knowledge of rural environments in our Region such as the municipality of Caravaca so that the participants know their traditions, their folklore, their stories and their past and present. c) Promote intergenerational and intercultural dialogue between young people from various European countries and older people from the municipality of Caravaca. d) Promote the exchange of experiences between the young people of the project and those people older residents in several villages of Caravaca such as Almudema, Barranda and Caravaca de la Cross, city.
