Objectives

The study and valorisation of the figure and era of Charles V, the last Emperor of Europe, is key in the development and construction of European history, and necessary when fostering the creation of a European identity and an enduring feeling of shared belonging to an extensive, diverse and European identity and an enduring feeling of shared belonging to an extensive, diverse and supportive common heritage such as Europe that will allow the process of European construction to progress on two of its strongest pillars: culture and solidarity amongst the peoples of Europe. In addition, the association has promoted social innovations through youth initiatives and programmes to foster the inclusion of young people in Alcoià and Comtat, the region where the activities are usually carried out, and is also involved in projects related to environmental protection, cultural exchange and local entrepreneurship. Regarding the official dissemination about our network, there is an official website of the Cooperation Network of the European Routes of Charles V, www.itineracarolusv.eu. The page is translated into three languages, Spanish, English and Italian, and is where one can find all the information referring to the Cooperation Network as an institution and to the European Routes of Emperor Charles V, with publicity and informative documents, emphasising especially the promotion of the places and cities through which the Emperor passed and which are currently associates of the Network. It is a dynamic device where news, activities and events are updated. As as well as having access to the social networks of the organisation such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+, there is also access to the Network's YouTube channel where all the most representative videos are uploaded, as are others which promote the Network's associates. In this sense, these activities have as main objectives to promote the higher educational development of young residents in the region and to enhance their soft skills through areas such as entrepreneurship and gastronomy. In the area of entrepreneurship, Pasarón de la Vera has a privileged natural heritage that allows the practice of outdoor sports, especially gastronomy and this is the main reason why it was selected to host the development of the project. Youth unemployment is a problem currently faced by many rural territories in the European Union due to the lack of investment, infrastructures and resources to provide their population with the necessary amenities to find employment. This project aims to provide a solution to combat rural depopulation in Europe. A large part of the young population in rural areas leaves their homes to study in other cities, and in the vast majority of cases this population does not return to their place of birth. This problem generates the depopulation of these municipalities and there is no generational replacement, causing the age pyramid to grow. To fight against this problem, our solution is based on training to relocate work in rural areas, both through entrepreneurial formulas and by working remotely for other companies in another part of the world. This was the main idea of Let's cook our heritage, let's cook our future, the idea was that young workers from different European countries, after training, would return to their countries and try to apply their new skills and ideas there. This mobility for the young participants that took place in Pasarón de la Vera was aimed at young people from different European countries to learn through non-formal educational methods about different topics within the gastronomic world. Taking into account all these important concepts for the project and working with the young participants and their experiences and good practices, two important objectives were assessed: the possibilities that rural municipalities offer to young people in terms of infrastructures, services, employment and personal opportunities and, on the other hand, rural depopulation and how to reduce this important problem that is affecting the whole of Europe. The particular objectives of this project were -- Promote multiculturalism, knowledge and respect for different European traditions and cultures; - Promote entrepreneurship in creative and cultural sectors; - Encourage new mechanism for active participation of young people as a mechanism for their social inclusion. - Develop the personal and professional growth of workers in the field of youth in relation with European heritage, cultural tourism and professional gastronomy; - Value the potential of European heritage and its relationship with creativity and entrepreneurship in cultural and creative economy;
