Ticket2Europe and its partners jointly decided to promote the development of the social entrepreneurship ecosystem and stimulate entrepreneurial learning for young people with fewer opportunities. We feel the urgency to act, taking into account the current labor market has changed considerably, moving from a "job for life" to one based on entrepreneurship and with a marked social aspect. This also means moving from the traditional mindset of expecting formal education to provide technical knowledge, to an attitude more focused on taking action, finding solutions and learning by doing. The main disadvantage of this change is that an important part of young people is not prepared to adapt to this new paradigm, which leads to a high rate of youth unemployment in the European Union. According to the European Commission, “youth unemployment rates are generally much higher, even double or more than double, than unemployment rates for all ages”. Starting Up! has sought to empower young people to become more aware of their possibilities to become entrepreneurs and increase their skills and competencies through the exchange of information on how entrepreneurship works in each partner country and region. In this way, they learn more about how to create their own work and generate their own income in the future. The objectives of Starting Up! They have focused on the following elements: - To increase the mobility of 32 young people including participants with fewer opportunities and from rural areas; - To bring together 32 participants and local participants to exchange experiences of social entrepreneurship in each partner country; - To allow the exchange participants to organize an activity for local youth about their local realities together with partner organizations dealing with the topic of social entrepreneurship; - To exchange good practices in social entrepreneurship and stimulate entrepreneurial learning; - To create and disseminate video-tutorials on how to stimulate social entrepreneurship and initiative for young people. - To learn more about the steps involved in being an entrepreneur, by meeting real entrepreneurs who are already carrying out their professional activities and who have been presented at the Pont Up Store entrepreneurship event. Starting Up! has aimed to raise the self-esteem and self-awareness of young people with fewer opportunities, allowing them to be active citizens, to support cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue. In addition, their participation in the project has sought to increase the awareness of the participants about European citizenship. By working together, they came to the conclusion that they belong not only to their own country but also to the community of the European Union. Starting Up! is also linked to the following Erasmus+ objectives: - To improve the level of key skills and abilities of young people with fewer opportunities; - To promote participation in the labor market; - To promote active citizenship and combat social exclusion.
