San Andrés y Sauces is a rural municipality in the northeastern part of the island of La Palma, a non-capital island of the EU's EU of the Canary Islands. With a population of 4112, of which young people are 762 (18.52%) population (INE 2018). Due to the marked rural character of the municipality (main economic area the primary sector, banana cultivation), and its orography, it is suffering a sharp population decline, especially among young people, our municipality being the one that in pocertanje (18.53% , ISTAC 2018), the most population decline in the entire region has experienced since 2010. This is due to limited opportunities for access to higher education andspecialized 7o (university, vocational training), as young people must modify their residence to a capital island or the peninsula; the limited job opportunities due to limited economic diversification in the territory and the lack of investment. With this project, involving 16 young people between the ages of 14-19 and 4 group leaders from rural areas in Spain and Croatia, we want to provide the opportunity for young participants to meet first-hand other realities similar to that of its context to, through the exchange of experiences, jointly advance ideas and proposals that can facilitate on the one hand the development of rural areas, especially with regard to new perspectives for young people; and the promotion of youth participation in them. In short, our objectives are: - Promote the development of knowledge and skills focused on the development of rural communities - Facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences and practices that promote youth participation and innovation in sympity with sustainable development in rural areas. - promote learning and development opportunities among young people with fewer opportunities.
