Objectives

"Midori Youth" is a youth mobility project that aims to promote a simple and healthy lifestyle through the practices of yoga, sustainable agriculture and outdoor activities in rural areas. The project will be carried out at Finca Santa Clara, in Brihuega where The Banyan Tree has its facilities in the heart of the Alcarria. We understand that a healthy balance in habits is the basis of a happy and full life, therefore, we wanted to develop a project based on the proposal of the participants of our network of associations, which gives the participants an interactive experience and solid on how to maintain their balance generating a positive impact on their local communities. According to WHO, "the sense of health, well-being and satisfaction with the lives of Europeans is greater than in many other parts of the world. We see however that the development of mega cities and rural depopulation is a tangible reality in European countries that historically they have depended heavily on agriculture, WHO indicates that the central aspects of life in rural areas correspond to different indicators of a better quality of life, as an example we can cite Spain where, until the 50s, half of The population lived in rural areas, even 30 years later, the biggest inflection in history in this regard, the second Industrial Revolution. Goals and objectives: 1. Share healthy nutrition, cooking and home gardening practices involving participants 2. Promote basic methods of waste management in rural communities 3. Teach participants how to relieve stress and find inner peace through meditation, music, art and similar practices 4. Facilitate cooperation, strengthening a common European identity 5. Promote teamwork practices among participants 6. Discuss the importance of the youthpass certificate and its possible influence on their future work 7. Help participants find their passion and how to develop in this area. 8. Promote the opportunities of Key Action 1 in the La Alcarria area and their impact on local youth. We understand that youth is vulnerable to the alienation of cities and we believe that Midori Youth is a good opportunity to share with them a healthy and full life proposal, with practices that they can easily adopt and apply throughout their lives. We consider it essential to understand your needs and concerns We believe that this project is tailor-made for the needs of young people, because not only will they learn how to live a happy and healthy life, they will also meet young people from other parts of Europe and learn about their culture and thus improve their social skills , making it easier to make new friends, show mutual respect, to develop higher levels of tolerance, to see all the same people. They will also learn something about foreign languages and improve their communication skills. One of the important features that they will develop is critical thinking because they will have to leave traditional social networks customs that may not have been questioned, although they may be harmful. And what we want as a result is that they can make their own analysis of the world around them, foster new ideas and put them into action, making them active, innovative and risk-taking citizens. Other relevant objectives of our project are: 1. Improving social skills: our plan is to involve young people from different parts of the world in cooperation to achieve mutual goals, transcending all national, cultural and religious differences, which can result in making strong friendships with each other, and much least raise your awareness of common values, tolerance and mutual respect. 2. Critical thinking: the project will enable our participants to be aware of their surroundings, their traditions, social customs, public trends, etc. And they can freely decide what to follow and what not, making them able to judge for themselves. 3. A sense of initiative: Another objective of this project is to train its participants to share their experiences with others.
