Objectives

In 2017, at the end of the work carried out in bolunta with the Bizkaia Forum of Voluntary Organisations on how to promote volunteers in our organisations to be real agents of social change, and therefore committed citizens, we were concerned about whether there were any good practices on this issue at European level. Within the autonomous community of the Basque Country, and at national level, we knew experiences, but we wanted to check how volunteering is experienced at the European level, and specifically whether it is also committed to transformative volunteering. The main objective of the project was to "Share good practices and experiences in promoting/managing transformative volunteering for young people". In this sense, the project tried to highlight the value of voluntary action as a way to promote young people as agents of social change. With this activity we intended to promote the professional development of the employees, in order to strengthen quality work in the youth field, to provide them with innovative tools and resources in the framework of their organisation with a clear impact on their daily work. The programme was also aimed at developing skills and improving the quality and recognition of youth work in the youth field and at enhancing synergies and complementarity of those working in the youth field.
