Objectives

After several years of experience in environmental education, in the protection and conservation of natural and cultural heritage, the promotion of urban and peri-urban biodiversity as well as in sustainable rural development ... we work with society to encourage their active participation, to acquire healthier and more ethical habits with the planet. However, after analyzing all our projects, we realized that we were not giving enough importance to consumption itself, although it has always been worked across in all of our projects. activities and also internally, we thought of creating a project that deepened the daily bases of our consumption at all levels and its impact on our environment and our communities. We are living a systemic crisis in which the absence of care prevails with a completely unconscious, automatic and destructive consumption of everything that is alive. This dominant life model is having a severe impact on the increase in temperature and CO2 emissions, the poles are melting and every day we lose a greater percentage of species and biodiversity imminently. At the same time, inequalities between North - South countries are increasing, the number of migrations is increasing and with it violence, racism, hatred and violence are increasing. sociocultural segregation. At Sustinea, we work and fight every day to combat this reality and transform it from our principles and good professional work, following the motto of "Think global, act local". It is necessary to take direct, nonviolent measures and actions, where awareness is promoted about the importance of our small daily habits and their great impact on a large scale. For this reason, we brought this proposal: "You are what you consume" in the form of a Youth Exchange in which we seek to generate a space for the exchange of ideas and proposals on Consumption Responsible, Ethical and Sustainable. Within this week of exchange with people from different countries, we examine and analyze the global consequences of our consumer society, under the paradigm of Permaculture and the Circular, Social and Solidarity Economy, we share tools and actions at all levels to work in all areas of consumption from mind and body, leisure and free time, food, media, intra and interpersonal relationships, to water, energy, transport, technology, clothing and accessories, finance, hygiene and cosmetics, housing, etc. This comprehensive project "You are what you consume", which went from the micro to the macro, marks as its central axis promoting awareness among European youth about our daily consumption habits and the impact that our small actions generate at a global level. Our objectives have been largely achieved, even despite the exceptional circumstances in which we have been forced. The objectives were: 1. Encourage self-criticism and reflection on attitudes, behaviors and habits related to our daily consumption, among European youth and their communities. 2. Create a diverse, inclusive and gender perspective co-learning space, in which future international relations can be generated. 3. Encourage debate, intercultural dialogue and the active participation of the participants. 4. Provide a toolbox on Responsible, Sustainable and Ethical consumption habits to 30 young Europeans. 5. Reinforce healthy lifestyles among the participants and improve their intra and interpersonal skills. 6. Empower participants to be active agents of change in their communities. 7. Promote the protection of ecosystem biodiversity through consumption. 8. Promote green entrepreneurship and the social and solidarity economy. 9. Inform and promote the Erasmus + program. The priorities of the Erasmus + program are and were latent transversally and specifically throughout the program, promoting the social welfare and inclusion of young people regardless of their vital situation; promoting healthy lifestyles, as well as promoting social inclusion and active participation of young people in society; developing basic and transversal skills, using innovative pedagogical approaches through non-formal and informal learning. Especially, offering a space for co-learning in which a positive exchange of cultures can be given in respect of nature, creating international ties and transforming agents of change, improving the skills of all the people part of this project.
