Objectives

Initially the project was submitted in October 2019 for completion in 2020 and was based on various observations. The first half of 2019 was marked by a global mobilization of young people in favor of climate preservation. On March 15, 2019, the global strike day for the climate, echoing Greta Thunberg 's call and her "Fridays for Future" action, was followed by almost all of Europe. A few days before the European elections in May of that same year, thousands of young Europeans went on strike to place climate change at the heart of the concerns of voters and candidates. During a European youth exchange set up in July 2019 by the Twinning Committee of Calasparra (Spain), the association Europabaum of Donzdorf (Germany) and the Social Center of Riorges (France) the young people of the 3 localities had expressed this awareness and had expressed their desire to act and work on the subject during future projects. To meet this demand, the organizing associations have, after consultation, opted to set up an exchange on more responsible consumption with regard to current environmental issues and which should lead to the creation of a physical and virtual exhibition of awareness and a code of good practice on this subject. The wish was that these productions symbolize the commitment of young people in this action and allow the results of their work to be communicated to as many people as possible and in particular to their peers. ( schools , colleges, high schools, ACM...) With a strong experience acquired in terms of European exchanges and the impacts they can have on young people, the 3 partners, in accordance with the values they share and in line with the Erasmus + program, wanted to develop different general objectives. As associations supporting openness to others and as youth workers: - Encourage the active citizenship of young people and develop a sense of European belonging through exchange and creation, promote European cooperation between young people - Develop values of solidarity and tolerance strengthening cohesion between peoples in general and between members of the group in particular, fostering the openness of young people to the world around them and mutual understanding - Promote relationships, team spirit, group dynamics, sharing, dialogue, develop socialization through community life - Increase the attractiveness and international dimension of partner associations to continue to offer activities and programs that meet the needs of their participants For the young : - Become aware of their autonomy, the consequences of their life choices, develop their critical sense, their spirit of initiative, their capacity for creativity and innovation - Learn to be enriched by human differences, the knowledge and know-how of others, the diversity of cultures - Increase their level of skills, in order to improve their personal development and increase their chances of being employable on the labor market. - Develop self-confidence and separation from family by discovering new experiences in a safe environment - Improve foreign language skills and offer the possibility of creating networks of international contacts In accordance with their objectives, the partner organizations wished to: encourage mobility, non-formal education, promote communication, encounters, citizenship, the commitment of young people, discovery and cultural relations, friendship between nations sense of belonging and the values of European fraternity. It echoed the concerns of young people about climate change, their desire to mobilize on this subject and their need for knowledge in terms of consumption and its impact in order to be able to position themselves. It was integrated into the project and actions already undertaken by the Social Center in terms of sustainable development. ( positive food family challenge , educational garden, selective sorting, etc.) but also to "power to act" by allowing young people to express themselves through creation, by promoting the dissemination of the results of their work. By working in multicultural groups and by deepening a relevant theme from an environmental but also social point of view, the aims were to increase the level of aptitude and transversal skills through informal learning, develop skills in foreign languages, raise awareness and open up to other cultures and lifestyles, engage and actively participate in a project by cooperating with other young Europeans, strengthen the values of democratic solidarity and critical thinking.
