CONTEXT OF THE PROJECT : The aim of the "Eco-Logic" project was to accompany and raise awareness among young European citizens of the global issues concerning the environment and the protection of the planet. It was also intended to enable young people to express their citizenship by addressing the issue of migration due to climate change. By supporting the fight to protect the environment, the project raised awareness of the individual ecological footprint and the role of each individual in the future. The project was part of a peer-to-peer and then intergenerational dialogue, and echoed the Europe 2020 policy objectives of climate change, energy and inclusive growth. Through this project, the young people became aware of the richness of biodiversity, of the planet and of the ways in which they could contribute to its protection. They strengthened their critical thinking skills and reflected on the notions of tolerance and respect by challenging their prejudices. The project aimed to promote diversity and rethink the concepts of solidarity and environmental protection to help young people find their place in society and in the world. In order to live in a world that is more tolerant and respectful of human rights, more respectful of our planet, to encourage civic engagement and to fight against global warming, it is essential to help young people become aware that their actions count, that they have the power to act. The "Eco-Logic" project, led by young people, was a lever for our structures to raise awareness among local authorities and inhabitants of the challenges of environmental protection. An unexpected factor upset the overall organisation of this project. The global pandemic of Covid 19, as well as the war in Ukraine in February 2022, had a serious impact on the mobilisation and participation of some of the project's actors, particularly in their mobility (absence of the Greek group on mobility in Romania and France). The notion of European citizenship has been shaken by the closure of borders and the injunctions to stay at home. The social isolation experienced during the periods of confinement has de facto forced this project to include a (re)construction of social links on an individual and European scale. This health crisis nevertheless slowed down the commitment of young Greeks. This was mainly due to the health measures imposed at the time, or to the fears expressed by young people and their families about travelling during a health crisis. In addition, the soaring price of air tickets, accentuated by inflation due to the war in Ukraine, had a real impact on food prices in France. However, these different global crises have reinforced the need for young people - and the partner organisations - to question the impact of PROJECT OBJECTIVES European citizenship, awareness and democracy - To make young people aware of the importance of civic engagement and of their power to act. - To discover the various f Environment and climate change - To support local policies and local commitment in terms of environmental protection To discover ecological structures that work on a local, national or international scale - Develop cultural openness, European dialogue between peers - To promote dialogue and exchanges on eco-citizenship through meetings between peers. - Enable young people to become solidarity ambassadors LINK WITH THE OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME : - To develop young people's critical thinking skills, their commitment to citizenship and to the planet - Reach out to young people with fewer opportunities, minorities in our territories, by going out to find them where they are (parks, schools, football stadium, etc.) - Raise awareness of the values of respect, inclusion and tolerance among young people and citizens
