The aim of the project "Diversity and Participation" was to bring together social workers from three countries (Germany, France and Turkey), to exchange on the realities of work and related difficulties and to work together on intercultural and diversity-oriented methods. Since the start of the project in spring 2019 in Diyarbakir and its continuation in autumn 2019 in Berlin, two and a half years passed before the third activity could be organized in Marseille from 14 to 21 May 2022. The main goal of this phase was to familiarize participants with social work and its specificities related to the particular history of immigration and work with refugees in France and Marseille. We trained participants to engage in this process in an empathetic and professional manner. During the project, the group was able to discover the different social realities of three cities, Berlin, Diyarbakir and Marseille, and to exchange with local actors on site. In between activities, the participants stayed in touch via digital meetings and an online shared workspace. A collection of methods was developed by the social work professionals to better collaborate, to learn from good practices in other countries and to integrate new and diverse target groups. Despite the pandemic, participants had to stay in touch. This facilitated a smoother recovery for this phase given the interruption. This leads us to another important objective: The organization and planning of future projects. Even though this training seminar was the last activity of the project, this does not mean that the cooperation will stop. The aim is to encourage and push the participants to continue working together beyond the project framework. This meeting was a valuable opportunity for the consolidation of contacts and the realization of common agreements for the future. The idea of this training cycle was also to introduce to the social work professionals the approach of the "Diversity" method and to teach them other intercultural methods. "Diversity" aims to (re)learn about the heterogeneity of identities, but also to understand the related issues of power and dependency. This tolerance and awareness are important, especially when working with increasingly heterogeneous target groups. The participants had to learn to recognize the resources in otherness, to put up with differences and to find and use the commonalities. In addition, they were to recognize intercultural processes and become actively and professionally involved themselves. This means, for example, being able to change one's perspective, having one's own attitude and being able to appreciate diversity. The project was also intended to allow the participants to continue to acquire the methodologies and processes of intercultural work. They were to acquire additional knowledge about the diversity approach and to assimilate the different dimensions (age, ethnicity, origin, gender, sexual orientation, disability or not, beliefs) to be able to integrate them in their daily socio-educational work. Another objective of this seminar was to achieve networking among the participants who were to start planning and realizing future projects with young people together. For this purpose, the group had to meet again after an enforced break of two and a half years, to find common alliances to prepare for the last activity of the cycle. The usual and virtual meetings between the participants kept their enthusiasm for the participation in the project. This meant that most of the participants took part in all three exchanges and therefore also in this last one of the project cycle. This was a proof of their commitment. The program had the following highlights: -Exercises to get to know each other (to get to know each other better for the old participants and to introduce themselves for the new ones.) - Guided discussions. -A presentation on the migratory history of the city. -Project visits -An exchange on current social work issues in the respective cities and countries -A partner project exchange -Evaluations -An intercultural evening -Cohesion time (solidarity restaurant, excursion to Frioul Islands, meeting with the members and partners of UTC at the UTC GA on the occasion of the World Day for Cultural Diversity
