Objectives

Food culture is more than just a biological action; it is an important mirror of the cultural inheritance, reflecting the identity and history of societies. Although it differs from region to region, culture to culture, as a reflector of the identity of societies, it is unifying and common denominator, in terms of it is a basic need of human being. Such important that, so many recipes and products are protected by UNESCO. Based on the culinary culture, it is possible to observe the belief and lifestyle of society, even interactions intercommunal. This situation is a cultural wealth and treasure with its all aspects and needs to be protected and maintained. From this point of view, our project unites culinary cultures in a creative way to make a positive contribution to the cultural diversity and tolerance. According to the 2018 report on hate speech in the media, increased discourses of discrimination against migrants, a major problem occurred, the situation must be solved urgently. Thousands of people hit to the streets to protest the actions and behaviors against different social identities and expressed their desire to protect the rights of these masses in 2018 International Week Against Racism. This shows us that there is a need to develop dialogue between different social and cultural groups and thus strengthen the inclusiveness of societies. The UNHCR states that 1.8 million migrants facing with discrimination problem as a result of increased social struggles between only 2014-2018. The word discrimination includes an extremely wide range of meanings involving religion, nationality, physical appearance, etc including migrants, minorities and refugees. We wanted to take action to prevent discrimination, together with a group of international partners. In our project, we use culinary cultures as a creative learning tool in Europe and globally, to prevent social conflicts, coming from an increasing discriminatory perspective, and in this sense, we aim to create a positive impact area at local, regional and international level. It is planned to make online booklet, "Cook for the Peace" that includes all project outcomes in a creative way to spread out our results. We are aiming to deliver project outputs to NGOs, decision makers, policy makers, youth workers, and youth leaders to prevent discrimination across Europe. 'Cook for the Peace' plays important role by combining the project outputs and project idea in this process. We plan to display at least 7 workshops in 7 partner countries through culinary workshops by integrating migrants and minorities. The project has been design on such a structure that participants create a multiplier effect, that when they return to their countries can provide their associations ideas. Combining all the social media accounts, email groups, stakeholders, websites traffic of partner organizations we analyzed the capacity of reaching 10,000+ people with online outputs of the project rather than physical dissemination and follow up activities. The main elements of our project activities include the following items: -Using culinary culture as a tool to perform creative activities for social integration of migrants into the society and providing tolerance in communities, - To increase active citizenship awareness with disseminating the results of the activities by the participants and partner organizations, -To raise awareness of cultural variety and tolerance at local and national level with the exhibition of culinary culture which will be held in Rekreativni Centar Baske Ostarije' -With the post-activity results ("Cook for the Peace" online booklet and social media campaigns) conducting local and international dissemination activities on the migrants problem, -To contribute to the social peace processes by planting in the vision of seeing differences as wealth to the participants.
