Objectives

Most countries have made significant progress in incorporating key competences into national curricula and other official documents. Key competences contribute decisively to economic growth and employment, and help European countries to keep pace with a constantly evolving demand for competences. As part of the framework for European policy cooperation in education and training (ET 2020), EU Member States have set the objective that less than 15% of 15-year-olds should be classed as 'low-achieving' in basic skills by 2020. This target will be evaluated against the new PISA data which will become available in early December 2019. The Commission supports EU Member States to strengthen basic skills and key competences for all citizens by facilitating mutual learning and the exchange of best practices. For this reason YOUTH COMPETENCES is an international youth exchange focused on the development of the key competences within the concept of the non-formal education with the emphasis on the support of creativity, invention, entrepreneurship to achieve better state in the labour market through the application of the learning outcomes of the international youth project and base for further personal development.
