Objectives

The main objective of the project Bora bora is to increase the confidence and self-worth of young people between the ages of 13 and 17 through the use of non-formal education methods such as simulations, role-plays, different sports activities and language animation. We want to empower youngsters with fewer opportunities to communicate with people from other countries regardless of their language skills. The project aims to show the young people that they can communicate non-verbally and using other methods and that not knowing a language should not be seen as an embarrassing thing. We also want to disseminate the values of dedicated work, collaboration, and teamwork to young people. Lastly, our project aims to teach young people from 13-17 that failures are part of life and they are a necessary step in the learning process. Furthermore, it is important to see failures as a lesson and learn from them and not beat ourselves up because we failed. This project also wants to share and reinforce the values of the European Union to the youngsters with fewer opportunities, so that they really understand that diversity is an asset an not a minus. This project will help them increase their awareness about European topics and values as well as understanding the importance of learning a foreign language and improving their communication skills. All of these competencies are valued in today's labor market and we want to encourage youngsters to start developing these competencies as soon as possible. The issue we want to address is the lack of self-confidence of the young people in foster care or rural areas when it comes to communicating with foreigners.
