The idea of this current project was to involve, learn, share ideas, information and practical experiences about permaculture that is a an ethical and practical design process that through constant observation, analysis and evaluation is able to produce truly sustainable systems in a social, environmental and economic sense. We planned this Youth Exchange to happen on the Summer, of 2020, but due to the Covid situation, we had to prolong the implementation and it happened on 2021, August. We also had to change our Spanish partner for the current COVID situation as did could not take the risk of their young people to travel. We replaced them with a less challenging travel destion, to Slovakia as we also see that it is a smaller risk to take for the travel restrictions. Our mobility project aimed to develop important competencies such as changes in the participants’ behaviour in relation to nature, diversity, inclusion and community, improving intercultural cooperation and more conscious and critical thinking. All planned objectives were fulfilled, the changes (time and one of the partner organization) did not influence our original plans the implementation of the activity. Our objectives were: - To build a network led by young people who want to practice permaculture the social aspect of permaculture philosophy - To raise awareness about the rural lifestyle, and inspiring them with rural entrepreneurship opportunities - To empower youth in local and national level to be able to connect based on the same values and practices and reach out to marginalized young people, promoting diversity which is a basic ethic in permaculture - To enhance critical thinking of youth participants through using permaculture and sociocracy holistic design system - To create the opportunity for experiencing solidarity in a community by mutual support and sharing Our idea is to use 4 focus for developing the project. This project aims to bring tools, knowledge, encouragement and examples to the participants in order to learn to be able to have business/living initiatives in rural areas and connect/network with young people who won't try to make living from the countryside. Apart from theoretical knowledge and practical skill development, we would like to create creative space for bringing ideas and discussions on how these knowledge can be used for income generation. We also wanted to involve local young people who are interested in this topic and speak sufficient level of English. Since we had to change our Spanish partner and we replaced them with an NGO from Slovakia and from where the participants spoke Hungarian as well (just as the group from Romania), we had the opportunity to invite those Hungarians, who speak lower level of English, but as the majority of this YE spkoe Hungarian, those youngsters could take part as well.
