Objectives

The context of the Academy for Actors of Civil Change is professional but informal. We believe in the power of working in a cross-sectorial way and give all participants the chance to get involved and express their ideas. We find important to build a group within the participants. Therefore, just as last years, we will share collective moments of games and of reflexion each day. Besides starting and ending the days together, there will also be several occasions for -formal and non-formal- team-building activities. The workshops focus on the different aspects of performing arts practices. In order to satisfy the different needs of the participants and their future target groups, we provide: • professional development in different performing arts disciplines • leadership skills on how to implement a creation process based on the newly learned skills • an opportunity to become a creator, facilitator and moderator. First week each workshop will have two (in the case of forum theatre and narrative creation, four) sessions with a practical approach: they will focus on getting to know the demonstrated methods by being present as participants. At the beginning of the second week, mentors will share their own experience on how to implement a training and a creation process. It’s an opportunity for the trainees to get an insight of the methods and the preparation averting the workshops they participated in. These sessions are crucial in the project, as they will be a clinging point for participants when planning and implementing their own workshops to prepare their pieces. Next to the workshops different team building and active free time activities will be organised, accompanied by reflections and evaluations. After the exchange days, participants will be divided into smaller groups. In the following days, the small groups evolved this way will work together on the preparation of a performance around the main subject drawing inspiration from the prior experience and knowledge gained from the programme. The strategic planning will be supported by the mentors, who will supervise the creation process, helping with their opinions and ideas when needed. After the days of creation, external experts will arrive from the field of Theatre In Education. They will introduce their work to the participants in the framework of a world café and will give short workshops using the methods they usually apply in their daily work. Along with members of Kerekasztal Színház and Horizont Alkotócsoport, some additional members of Tudás Hatalom group will arrive as well, so that during the day they can perform their TIE pieces, Örömsorvasztó (Wasted Joy) and Identity Training. The day after, International Youth Leaders will perform the pieces they have been working on to each other, the mentors and experts. The latter will then give their opinions and advise to make the pieces more suitable for the targeted audiences. The role of these experts will be to examine and advise the trainees from an external angle of a different professional sector. They will ensure that the final pieces will be convenient and ready to be presented before the audience of the closing event. After this day, participants will have one more day to prepare for the final presentations, taking into consideration the experts’ guidance and making the last alignments on the pieces. The two-week programme will end in an open day, when underprivileged local young people and professionals (social workers, NGO workers, sociologues, psychologists, artists, etc.) of the region will be invited to see the results of the participants’ work and exchange over their experiences. Meeting the objectives: The trainings are improving the capabilities of the youth workers and through it, as an indirect effect, improving competences of young people. All our partners are involved in the work with youngsters with fewer opportunities (such as ones living in economically underprivileged areas, minorities, with difficult social background etc.). As we develop the youth workers’ capabilities, we are also developing the impact they can have on their local level. We are developing the quality of youth work and youth workers. New approaches are shared and a network is established in order to help them reach each other. This will help and foster further cooperation between organisations having youth in their focus. With our closing event, we would like to make an impact on the localities as well, by presenting them to effective methods that can be used in youth work, by introducing them to organisations and youth workers with similar goals and by raising their awareness to the possibilities of international exhange opportunities in the field of youth work. Thus, the program gives a possibility and supports the further mobility and other international projects within the Erasmus+. We inform and promote the possibilities between the participants – and further – to continue our collaboration.
