Objectives

The young people of four countries (Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary), who are living at a peripheral, economically under-developed are, we would like to accomplish the „Voluntary Simplicity” youth exchange to get to know a new point of view with non-formal learning, which helps us to plan the future with a critical thinking, while taking care of our enviroment’s sustainability. Through non-formal and informal learning methodes, collaborative learning and collaboration, we create an intercultural collection called the "Mini-Lexicon of Voluntary Simplicity", that represents many values: it contains environmental, unique, traditional, european and local values, helps to create jobs for young people, provides opportunities and promotes sustainability. One of our most important goal is to help youth with disadvantaged background to participate in a program that strengthens groupwork ability, while they jointly plan, implement, assess and popularise their work. The main goal of our project is to work together on the concept of "volunteer simplicity" in order to see its opportunities, improve our initiative, respect tolerance and develop our media literacy and critical thinking. We aim to improve six main competencies throughout the program. Through entrepreneurial competences, we want to improve young people's sense of initiative and responsibility, and encourage them to innovate. We are more aware of the workplaces associated with 'volunteer simplicity', the opportunities that this offers and the desire to improve our entrepreneurial spirit. By developing science competence, they will be able to act locally and think globally in pursuit of individual and community goals. As for interpersonal and citizenship related competencies, youth will get the chance to familiarising themselves with an intercultural atmosphere. They can learn and accept different cultures, which will also help the long process of an individual becoming a member of the community. Learning to learn is also an important aspect of our program. With utilising the methods of projectwork and workshops plus peer learning, our aim is to help youth make good use of their newly gained skills in all walks of life, be it education, their workplace or an own business. The development of digital competence is ensured by the fact that many program elements are implemented by computer. Foreign language competence also comes to the forefront, as in many programs (learning about competencies, writing songs, etc.) we take care of practicing multiple languages.
