Objectives

The title of the project is "The Culture Awakens". The aim of this project is to approach the cultural heritage to young people and for all participants to become aware of the importance to preserve and share the culture through different ways, music, dance, food, art, literature, etc. We feel the topic affects all participating countries presently and this exchange is fully committed to providing a safe non-judgmental environment which allows an opportunity for experiences and views of other cultures. We will divide our project into two different strategies. First, we will organise a training course with 40 participants from 4 European Union member countries, where all the partners agreed will establish the guidelines for the youth exchange and will set up some workshops that will take part during the youth exchange. After the Training course, the main activity of this project is to gather at a multilateral meeting were gathering 10 participants per country + 2 leaders with additional 2 leaders for logistics, from 4 different countries, 50 participants in total in Ballyfermot, Dublin. As for the profile of the group, it has centred around the ages of 15-17 years. These young people that are selected will take part in weekly sessions which will prepare them for the youth exchange and will empower them to have the capacity to engage positively. During these sessions, the participants will have an opportunity to develop an understanding of cultural heritage which will develop projects that will be a part of the exchange such as the cultural nights. Within each group, the criteria of parity and gender balance must be respected, as well as participants with some difficulties (economic, cultural, educational or social). We will take into account for the selection of participants their trajectory in associative movements, their participation in youth programs of environment, equality, ..., of their respective communities. It is also essential to put a value on the motivation and its availability to extend what has been learned and thus contribute to encouraging the values that have been worked and experienced in the project. Therefore, we highlight the influence, dynamism, creativity and strength with which the young people of the locality are putting in each of the phases (planning, development and execution) of this project. Thus, convinced of the capacity of action of the organizations involved, we believe that this project will leave a significant imprint both on the participants and coordinators, as well as on the social environment affected. In order to do this, from the exchange of knowledge and experiences, we will try to construct new models, new ways of living and understanding the relationship of the human being with culture and, ultimately, with himself and his peers. Among other factors, we consider that our project provides a very appropriate methodology when it comes to intervening with youth in the field of culture and education. In fact, this process of nonformal education, based on creativity, participation, autonomy, group work and cooperation, are key premises for working education in culture, education in values...and, specifically, something so linked to it all as is the conformation of our common identity as European citizens and the different ways of understanding human existence in its entirety. A monitoring and control system will be developed under a methodology of immersion in the medium and feedback that will allow the best relation between the participants, learning to give solutions to harmful behaviours and, valuing and spreading the welfare that produces us to be in tune with our Natural means. The combination of practical actions, with a playful methodology and taking into account at all times the environment and return of said learning to the citizens, is the basis of this project. Finally, we want to emphasize the involvement of the young people of our locality in the project since the proposal of the same, hence we consider that this interest will play a fundamental role in the subsequent dissemination of the same, producing a multiplier effect in the Transmission of good practices. Being aware that the objectives of this project are part of a career in the field, we want to take full advantage of the opportunity offered by the Erasmus + Program, making Europe a unique learning space for young people, expanding their skills, skills and attitudes.
