This Youth Exchange Application came from a Training Course entitled 'A Deeper Sense of Inclusion' held in Ireland in June 2018. The 5 partner organisations realised that they each faced similar challenges with young people that they worked with - environmental challenges, climate change, personal development -. Having discussed and planned in depth over the summer, and having consulted and discussed plans with potential participants, we arrived at the conclusion that a Youth Exchange could help the young people to achieve 3 objectives: The ' Local Climate Activists' Youth Exchange has 3 main objectives: 1. To help young people develop themselves, impacting positively on mental and physical health, developing capacities that will be useful for the young people in their careers and future lives, (such as communications skills, self-confidence, problem-solving, relationship building, creativity, resilience and emotional intelligence). The improvement in these skills is a critical component in this Exchange that will help the young people take charge of their lives and careers, and will help them to create new enterprises. 2. Connecting, engaging and empowering young people to take part in civic life across Europe - promoting diversity, social inclusion and intercultural learning. 3. To have a positive impact on the environment and the climate - to learn about what is happening in each country with regards to environmental issues, and to develop ideas and plans for actually doing something about the problems.
