Objectives

The main objectives of the project was to reflect upon and address issues of sustainable development through processes of informal and nonformal learning participative methods. We wanted to achieve this through a cultural exchange where the context is climate change through the lenses of climate justice. A red thred in the project was also that when it comes to climate challenges there no national borders. It was continuously underlined, for all participants including group leaders, that our exchange is indeed set within informal learning, in contrast to formal learning. We found that this was important to remind the participants of, since our main occupations outside the project is in fact within formal learning settings in regular schools. Within an informal learning environment our focus was less solution oriented when it comes to sustainable development and more focused on working with ways to deal with questions and complex issues, not necessarily solving them. We wanted to take a step back from quick fixes of recycling and buy ecological when the context is sustainability.
