The project aims to empowering Young people and strengthening resilience and share their voices with a youth centred participatory video action, based on the video interview medium, as a tool for climate change and environmental awareness. Involve the participants to the use of Participatory Video will enabled groups to research, document and raise awareness their communities on the environmental situation and on the need to act. The Youth Exchange will share tools that will support young people to develop an approach to building resilience to climate change and environment awareness at the community level, based on empowerment of young people and using Participatory Video as tool for advocacy. Dialogue and knowledge sharing are often constrained between who face risk and those who control policy. Young people, who are frequently the most marginalized group, face significant hurdles to get their voices heard and valued. In this circumstance Participatory Video is effective a way to include and reach powerless people and produce more equitable outcomes. Youth centered PV approached put marginalize groups at the centre of the advocacy process. This tools enable young people to be in the control of the process and create an interactive research environment between young people, their community and researchers. This allow issues and their causes, consequences and solutions to be grounded in how the youth and community see them. The interactive process of filming, editing and screening would become an effective driver for a social change. During the Youth Exchange the participants will be involved to identify priority issues on the contemporary environment situation. With the involvement of the local municipality of Riva del Garda we will create a final event, that will be a temporary coffee along the shores of Garda Lake, where we will invite others young people to make a short video interview sitting at a table with a cup of coffe. The aim is that of create a relaxing and open environment for comparison on one of the most urgent topics of the moment and to allow young people to share their thoughts on urgent and fundamental contemporary issues. The Youth Exchange responds to the new EU strategy proposed by the EU Commission for cooperation on youth over the period 2019-2027, to bring the EU closer to young people and to help address issues of concern to them. The escalating impact of climate change demand a whole-of-society approach to adaptation and resilience building. Bringing between generations as well as the need to assure a strong future for all points to the urgency of supporting the engagement and empowerment of youth in actions and policies at the nexus of climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. This Youth Exchange is grounded in the premise that youth have the capacity, interest, creativity, and right to contribute to designing the policies, plans, and decisions that affect them now and will shape their future. We will share the social interviews driven by the participants involving other young local people in their daily life, speaking on urgent topics like the climate change. In the same time we will sensitize on the importance of the engagement of youth as change makers and resilience leaders. More specifically the project's objectives are: •To encourage young people's participation in civic and democratic life •To support youth empowerment through the methods of Participatory Video •To empower reflection on climate change related on the contemporary situation •To give voice and listening to the thought of young people on contemporary issues •To develop new approaches, awareness and habits with reference to the theme of climate change and contemporary planet situation and what we can do to contribute positively to its protection •To create moments of sharing and social comparison As a final action in a public garden near the lake (the exact place will be established with the municipality) we will plant a small Agapanto, also called the plant of Love. Some recent research in fact estimates that a world planting program could remove two-thirds of all emissions that have been released into the atmosphere from human activities. The final event will be documented with a video to be used as a dissemination and awareness tool.
